Al-Qaroah (The striking)

 The Day of Resurrection is so named because its events will strike he hearts. Allah says,

Al-Qariah (the striking Hour i.e. the Day of Resurrection). Whart is the Striking (Hour). Surah Al-Qariah: 1-2)

Al-Haaqqah (The Reality)

This is because in the reality of promise and deterrence will be made known. Allah says,

The Reality (i.e. the Day of Resurrecvtion)! What is the Reality? (Surah Al-Haaaqqah:1-2)

As-Saaah

The Hour

The Day of Judgment is given this name because it will occur in an hour suddenlæy like a bolt from the blue. Allah says,

Verily, Allah! With Him (Alone) is the knowledge of the Hour. (Surah Luqman:34)

Al-Akhirah (The Last Day)

This is because it is the end of the days of the world and no other will come after that day as Allah says,

Ans who believe in (the Quran) and the Sunnah) which has been sent down) (revealed) to you (Muhammad) peace be upon him) and in (The taurat) (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel), etc.) Which were sent down before you and they believe with certainty in the Hereafter. (Surah Al-Baqarah:4)

The Day of Gathering

It is so named because the people of Paradise will over reach the people of Helælfire, As they will be envious of the people of Paradise for their comfort.

(and Remember) the Day when He will gather you (All) on Day of Gathering. (Surah Al-Taghaabun: 9)

The Day of Regret

The Day of Judgment is so named because the profligates and sinners will be regretful of what they have missed of righteous deeds and their falling into sins. This is as Allah says,

And wern them (O Muhammad salla alayhi wa sallam) of the Day of grief and regrets, when the case has been decided, while )now) they are in a state of carelesseness, and they believe not. (Surah Maryam: 39)

There are names of the Day of Judgment other than these, each name describes some of the events of that day, or indicates one of the situation of the creation on that day, or points to the enormity of its concern and serverity of its conditions.
