The Description of The Gathering

The creation will be gathered on the Day of Resurrection on a crystal white land. The Messenger of Allah salla alayhi wa sallam said,

The people will be gathered on the Day of Resurrection on a white land like a pure load of bread. It will have on landmarks for anybody (to make use of).

A pure load of bread is bread that is make of pure fine flour of whet or barley and free from adulteration and chaff.

Location of the Land of Gathering

The location of Resurrection is a shaam (Great Syria) The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam pointed his hand towards shaam and said,

Here to here will you be gathered rading and on foot. (Some of you) will be dragged on your faces. On the Day of Resurrection, your mouth would be sealed. Seventy nations will arrive the presence of Allah and you are the best and nobelst of them and the first (part) that will speak in one of you is his thigh.

Al-Fidaam is strainer which is placed

on the mouth of a pitcher to prevent water from being fetched from it. It means they would be prevented from speech such that their tighs would speak and that is analogous to the strainer that is placed on the pitcher preventing the fetching of water.

The Duration of The Day of Gathering

The Day of Gathering in which the judgment will be delivered among the creatures, realities (of things) will be uncovered and the disputes of the slaves (of Allah) will be steeled. is the equivalent of 50.000 years as Allah mentions,

The angels and the Ruh (jibreel (Gabriel) ascend to Him in a Day the measure whereof is fifty thousand years. (Surah Al-Maaarij:4)

Mankind will wait in suspense and fright except those who Allah secures and has mercy upon.

Due to the lengith of that day, mankind will forget the duration of their sojourn in the world and people think they did not spend more than an hour of the day in the life of this world, and they will regard it as short compared to the length and fright of that day.

Allah says,

And on the Day when He shall gather (resurrect) them together, (it will be) as if they had not stayed (in the life of this world and graves, etc.) but and hour of a day. They will recognise each other. Ruined indeed will be those who denied the meeting with Allah, and were not guided. (Surah Yunus: 45=

Our Lord also says,

And on the Day that the Houw will be established, the mujrimun (criminals, disbelievers, polytheists, sinners, etc.) will swear that they stayed not but an hour, thus were they ever deluded ( awau from the truth (i.e. they used to tell lies and take false oaths, and turn away from the truth) in this life of the world. (Surah Ar-Rum: 55)

In that situation, no one will pay attention to another, rather, each one will be engrossed in the thought of his own rescue. A man will flee from his brother, mother, father, wife and children, his kindred that sheltered him and all that are in the earth, so that he may be resuced and none of them would be able to rescue him. Due to the fright, a lover will forget his beloved, a friend will forget his friend, a mother will forget the child that she suckled and a woman will forget her pregnancy. This is as Allah says,

Then, when there comes as-Sakhkhah (the Day of Resurrections second blowing of Trumpet). That Day shall a man flee from his brother, and from his mother and his father, and from his wife and his children, Everyman, that Day, will have enough to make him careless of other. (Surah Abasa: (33-37)

Alla says,

Though they shall be made to see one another (i.e. on the Day of Resurrection) there will be none but see his father, children and relatives, but he will neither speak to them nor will aks them for any help), the Mujrim, (Criminal, sinner, disbeliever, etc.) would desire to ransom himself from the punishment of the Day by his children, and his wife and his brother, and his kindred who sheltered him, And all that are in the earth, so that it might save him). (Surah Al-Maaarij: 11-14)

The criminal will desire to ransom himself with his children, mother and all his children. He will would not mind that they all perish so that he may be saved. That will be a diffcult and ardous day, Allah says,

Verily, We fear from our Lord a Day, Hard and distressful that will make the faces look horrible (from extreme dislikeness to it.). (Surah Al-Insaan: 10)
