The Manner of Resurrection

Matters of the unseen cannot be known except throught revelation. The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam has informamed us in a number of hadith how resurrection will take place and the length of time between the two blowings of the Trumpet. From these hadith are the following:

There is between the two blowings forty.

Then he said,

Then Allah will send down rain from the sky and they will sprout just as legumes sprout (from the soil). There is nothing of the human body that does not decay except one bone; that is the little bone at the end of the cocyx of which the human body will be recreated on the Day of Resurrevtion.

After the first blowing which will cause the death of all living creatures, there will be an interval the length of which only Allah knows and then Allah will send down rain from which their bodies will sprouth.

When the bodies have been completely restored, regardless of whether they were buired in their graves, in the ocean, in the desert, and in mountain caves as Allah says,

As We began the first reation, We shall repeat it, (it is) a promise binding upon Us. Truly, We shall do it. (Surah Al-Anbiyaa: 104)

And at that point, the Trumpet will be blown for the second time and the souls will flutter back to their respective bodies. These bodies will be be brougth back to life. The earth will cleave open and they will emenge alive from their graves as Allah says,

On the Day when the earth shall be cleft, from off them, (they will come out) hastening forth. That will be a gathering, quite easy for Us. (Surah Qaaf: 44)

Allah also says,

And the Trumpet will be blown (i.e. the second blowing) and behold! From the graves they will come out quickly to their Lord. (Surah Yaasin: 51)

They will emerge from the sepulchers and graves to the point of assembly on Day of Resurrection.

The Messenger of Allah salla alayhi wa sallam said,

Then they Trumpet will be blown and no one will hear that bu he will bend his neck to one side and raise it from the other side and the first one to hear that trumpet will be the person who would be busy in repearing the trought meant for providing water to the camels. He would swoon and the other people would also swoon.

Then Allah will send or He will cause rain to descend which would be like dew and the bodies of the people will grow out of it. Then the second trumpet will be blown and they will stand ip and begin to look (around). Then the secound trumpet will be blown and they will stand up and begin to look (around). Then it will be said, O people, go yto your Lord, and make them stand there. And they will be questioned.

Human Bodies Will Germinate Like Plants

Just as plants germinate from seeds, so will human bodies sprouth from their cocyx after Allah sends down rain on them until they are completelu restored. Allah describes that in the following words,

And it is He Who sends the winds as healds of glad tidings, going before His Mercy (rain). Till when they have carried a heavy-laden cloud, We drive it to a land that is dead, then We cause water (rain) to descend thereon. Then We produce every kind of fruit therewith. Similarly, We shall raise up the dead, so that you may remember or take heed. (Surah Al-Araaf:57)

Human beings will germinate in the manner of legumes from the cocyx which is the bone at the tail end of the vertabral column.

The Messenger of Allah salla alayhi wa sallam explains that in his words (which has been quoted earlier),

There is between the two blowings, forty Then Allah will send down rain from the Sky and they will sprout just a legumes sprout (from the soil). There is nothing of the human body that does not decay except one bone; that is the little bone at the end of the cocyx of which the human bodu will be recreated on the Day of Resurrevtioon.

the Messenger of Allah salla alayhi wa sallam said,

The earth eats all of the son of Adam except the cocyx. He was created from it, and on it he is built.

Will The Recreated Body be Different From The Previous One?

Upon observation of the texts of the shariah from the Quran and the Sunnah, the apparent answer to this question is that the nature of human creation after resurrection will be different from the revious one in terms of physical strength, endurance and pther than that. This does not however mean that the resurrected beings whose accounting will be taken and be rewarded are entirely different individuals from who they were in the world. Rather, only from and strength will be different from what they used to be in the World. For instanve, they will see what they had never seen before They will see the angels, jinn and other beings known only to Allah, As Allah points out.

It will be said to the sinners, indeed you were heedles if this, now We have removed your covering, and sharo us your sight this Day. (surah Qaaf:22)

From that aspect is that the people of Jannah will not (need to) spit, defecate or urinate. Another aspect is that they will not die from the intensity of hunger and theirst in spite of the Length of the Day of Resurrction. From that aspect is that the sinners and disbelievers will burn in hell but they will not die as Allah mentions.

And death will come to him from every side, yet he will not die and in front of him, will be great torment. (Surah Ibraheem:17)
