The Prophets flag on The Plain of Assembly
From the honour Allah will give to our Prophet, Muhammad salla alayhi wa sallam, on the plain of assembly is that the Prophets salla alayhi wa sallam will stand under the flag of the Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam on the Day of Resurrection. He is their leader, spokesperson and curstodian of their interecession on the Day of The Resurrection, spokesperson and curstadion of their on the Day of Resurrection. This is as the Messenger of Allah salla alayhi wa sallam himself said,
On the Day of Resurrection, I will be the imam of the Prophets, their spokesperson and custodian of their interession and it is without boasting.
In his hand will be the flag of praise and there is not a Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam except that he will be under the flag of Muhammad salla alayhi wa sallam. He said, I will be the leader of the son of Adam alayhi sallam on the Day of Qiyaamah and this is not to boast. In my hand shall be the flag of praise, and this is not to boast. There is no a Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam on that day, Whether Adam and those besides him, but he will be under my flag. I will be the first for whom the earth will cleave open and this is not to boast.
Peoples Condition at The Assembly
The day of Gathering is a great, long and difficult day, The situation of people in it will way as the cast number of theirs kinds. However, they will be as the prophet salla alayhi wa sallam described them when he said,
O people! You will be gathered before Allah bare-footed, naked and not circumcised. Then he quoted the statement of Allah, As We began the first creation, we shall repeat it, (it is) a promise binding upon Us. Truly, We shall dot it. (Surah Al-Anbiyaa: 104)
It is affirmed that mankind will be resurrected in the cloth in which he died as is reported of Abu Saeed al-Kjudri that when his death approached, he called for a new dress and he put it on and said, I hears Allah Messenger salla alayhi wa sallam saying, The dead will be resurrected in the clothes in which he died.
How do we reconcile this hadith with the provious one which states that they will be resurrected naked?
It is said that the hadith refers to the martyrs for they were the ones the Messenger of Allah salla alayhi wa sallam ordered that they be buried in their cloths in which reported by Abu (Dawood Sahih).
they died and they will be resurrected in their cloths to distinguish them from others.
It is also said that Abu Saeeds action was an ijtihad (dediction) from him based on his understanding of the hadith, ptherwise, the cloth in the hadith would mean righteous deeds as Allah says,
And your garments purify! (Surah Al-Muddaththir: (4),
Which means purify your deeds and a man would and a man would be resurrected on whatever (deeds) upon which he died, whether good or bad. This is corrorborated bu the Prophet salla alayhi wa sallams statement. Every slave will be resurrected upon whatever (dead) upon which he died.
This is why it is recomended to instruct the dying to say, Laa ilaaha ill Allah so that it may be his last words in the world and that it may be the one upon which he will be resurrected on the Day of Qiyaamah.
If people will be resurrected naked, wont they be looking at one another?
When Aisha heard this hadith from the Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam she said, On Messenger of Allah salla alayhi wa sallam, women and men altogether! Wont they be looking at one another i nakedness? The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam responded, O Aisha, the matter will be too severe for them to look at one another. 85)
It means that each person will be too preoccupied with the terror and fright that will donimate his mind than to look at others.
