The Rights of Allah

 The rights that Allah has over the slaves are to worship Him and not to associate anyone with Him, to offer the salaah, pay the Zakat and establish acts of worship. The first question that will be asked is, What did you use to worship? and How did you respond to the Messengers?

From the rights of Allah on the slave is to offer acts of worship which He has obligated on him. The first of the acts of worship that will be reckoned is As-Salaah. The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam said,

The first thing that the servant will be called to account for on the Day og Judgment will be his As-Salaah, if it is good, he has prospered and succeeded. If it is bad, then he has failed and he is destoryed. If there is anu shortfall in his obligatory (Salaah), the Lord, the Blessed and Exalted, will say, See if My servant has any supererogator (prayers) and the shortcoming in his obligatory (Salaah) will be supplemented and that will be done with regard to the rest of his deeds.

The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam also said,

The first thing that the people will be called to account for on the Day of Resurrection from their deeds is As-Salaah. Our Lord will say to the angels, Look at My servant´s prayer, it is complete or incomplete? If shortfall in it, He (Allah) will say, Check, does My servant have anu voluntary (Prayer)? If he has voluntary Salaah (in his record), He will say; Supplement My servant´s obligatory (Salaah) from his voluntary (ones). And then the (other) deeds wil be admitted afterwards. 172

Voluntary Fasting

 Fasting is one of the major acts of worship with which Allah redeems the fasting person from the Fire. The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam said: ´´Fasting is a shield against the Fire (of Hell) just like the shield one of you would use during fighting.´´80 The supererogatory fasting has its virtue. The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam said: ´´He who observes fast for a day in the path of Allah, He will remove his face from the Hell due to (the fast of) that day to the extent of seventy years.´ distance.´´81 The phrase ´in the path of Allah´ could either mean fasting a day sincerely, intending the pleasure of Allah; or fasting in the course of a military expedition in the path of Allah.

Backbiter and Tale-Bearer

 A backbiter is the individual who indugles in backiting which involves mentioning about your brother that which he would detest. The tale-bearer is the person who varries bad tale among the people in order to cause disaffection among them. These sins cause pervading tribulations, and enormous corruption also stems from them. Their perpetrators are among the worst of people and due to their capricious tongue, they speak as dictated by their whims and desires.  Their situation at the time of resurrection will be appalling as the Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam mentioned, Whoever eats the flesh of his brother in the world (i.e. bacjbites), he will be presented to him on the Day of Resurrection and it will be said to him, Eat his dead as you have eaten him alive. He would eat him and he would scowl and scream.
