Charity

 It is one of the best acts of devotion and the greatest acts of benevolence which is indicative of the purity of the heart and clarity of the soul. Allah´s Messenger salla alayhi wa sallam said:

´´Whoever among you is able to protect (himself) from the Fire even if with one half of a date fruit (given in charity), then let him do so.´´78

The Messenger of allah salla alayhi wa sallam also said:

´´Allah will speak with everyone amongst you without any interpreter between them. He (the man) will look to his right and will not find anything but (the deeds) which he had done before, and he will look to the left and will not find anything but (the deeds) which he had done before. He will look in front of him and will find nothing but Fire just before his face. So protect (yourselves) against Fire even if it is with the help of half a date (given in charity).´´79

These ahadith contain an incitement to given charity and that its smallness should not inhibit one from giving; and that a small amount of charity could be a reason for deliverance from the Fire of Hell.

Voluntary Fasting

 Fasting is one of the major acts of worship with which Allah redeems the fasting person from the Fire. The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam said: ´´Fasting is a shield against the Fire (of Hell) just like the shield one of you would use during fighting.´´80 The supererogatory fasting has its virtue. The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam said: ´´He who observes fast for a day in the path of Allah, He will remove his face from the Hell due to (the fast of) that day to the extent of seventy years.´ distance.´´81 The phrase ´in the path of Allah´ could either mean fasting a day sincerely, intending the pleasure of Allah; or fasting in the course of a military expedition in the path of Allah.

Backbiter and Tale-Bearer

 A backbiter is the individual who indugles in backiting which involves mentioning about your brother that which he would detest. The tale-bearer is the person who varries bad tale among the people in order to cause disaffection among them. These sins cause pervading tribulations, and enormous corruption also stems from them. Their perpetrators are among the worst of people and due to their capricious tongue, they speak as dictated by their whims and desires.  Their situation at the time of resurrection will be appalling as the Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam mentioned, Whoever eats the flesh of his brother in the world (i.e. bacjbites), he will be presented to him on the Day of Resurrection and it will be said to him, Eat his dead as you have eaten him alive. He would eat him and he would scowl and scream.
