Chiefs and Great Personalities

 people differ in the strength of their personalities and vary in their ranks. There are some who have leadership personalities and influence others, hende, they are followed. Ofthers have such weak personalities that they are influenced by others and are dragged wherever the leader wishes. On the day of Resrrection, the follwer and the one that was followed will curse each other; the led and the leader will equally curse each other. Allah says:

´´And they all shall appear before Allah (on the Day of Resurrection) then the weak will say to those who were arrogant (chiefs): ´Verily, we were following you; can you avail us anything from Allah´s torment? They will say: ´Had Allah guided us, we would have guided you. It makes no difference to us (now) whether we rage, or bear (these torments) with patience, there is no place of refuge for ud.´´ (Ibraheem: 21)

Far removed from Allah´s mercy is he who was a head in evil, key to misguidance, leader in inequity, May he be destroyed and pulverized. Allah says:

´´And, when they will dispute in the Fire, the weak will say to those who were arrogant: ´Verily We followed you; can you then take from us some portion of the Fire? Those who were arrogant will say: ´We are all (together) in this (Fire)! Verily Allah has judged between (His) slaves.´´´ (Ghaafir: 47-48)

Allah says:

´´On the Day when their faces will be turned over in the Fire, they will say: ´Oh, would that we had obeyed Allah and obeyed the Messenger (Muhammad salla alayhi wa sallam).´ And they will say: ´Our Lord! Verily, we obeyed our chiefs and our great ones, and they misled us from the (right) way. Our Lord! Give them double torment and curse them with a mighty curse!´´´ (Al-Ahzab: 66-68)

This is the path of misguidance - they followed their chief and great personalities. They obeyed their compatriots and leaders and they corrupted their religion. They embellished for them adultery and they committed it. They beautified for them injustice and usurping the rights of others and they committed it. They preoccupied them away from dutifulness to their parents, caring for their children, their prayer and fasting and they obeyed them. On the Day of Resurrection, secrets will be blown open and all coverings will be ripped aparts and the followers will abuse and curse their leaders, but of what used is self-recrimination and regret?

 None will be saved on the Day of Resurrection except he who used to worship alah alone with Whom there is no associate. As for the other gods, they will lead their adherents into the Fire.

Voluntary Fasting

 Fasting is one of the major acts of worship with which Allah redeems the fasting person from the Fire. The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam said: ´´Fasting is a shield against the Fire (of Hell) just like the shield one of you would use during fighting.´´80 The supererogatory fasting has its virtue. The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam said: ´´He who observes fast for a day in the path of Allah, He will remove his face from the Hell due to (the fast of) that day to the extent of seventy years.´ distance.´´81 The phrase ´in the path of Allah´ could either mean fasting a day sincerely, intending the pleasure of Allah; or fasting in the course of a military expedition in the path of Allah.

Backbiter and Tale-Bearer

 A backbiter is the individual who indugles in backiting which involves mentioning about your brother that which he would detest. The tale-bearer is the person who varries bad tale among the people in order to cause disaffection among them. These sins cause pervading tribulations, and enormous corruption also stems from them. Their perpetrators are among the worst of people and due to their capricious tongue, they speak as dictated by their whims and desires.  Their situation at the time of resurrection will be appalling as the Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam mentioned, Whoever eats the flesh of his brother in the world (i.e. bacjbites), he will be presented to him on the Day of Resurrection and it will be said to him, Eat his dead as you have eaten him alive. He would eat him and he would scowl and scream.
