Consuming Usury

 Islam came to better all spheres of human life; religious, social, enonmical and others. It is the reason why usury was prohibited. Allah says:

´´Allah has permitted trading and forbidden Riba (usury). So whoever revices an admonition from his LORD and stops eating Riba (usury) shall not be punished for the past; his case is for Allah (to judge); bu whoever returns [ to Riba (usury)], such are the dwellers of the Fire - they will abide therein.´´ (Al-Baqarah: 275)

The Messenger of Allah salla alayhi wa sallam said:

´´Avoid the seven great destructive sins.´´ They (the people) asked: ´´O Allah´s Messenger! What are they?´´ He said:

´´To join partners in worship with Allah; to practice sorcery; to kill the life which allah had forbidden, except for a just cause (according to Islamic law); to ear up usury (Riba), to eat up the property of an orphan; to turn one´s back to the enemy and fleeing from the battle-field at the time of Fighting, and to accuse chaste women who never even think of anything touching chastity and are good believers.´´138

 None will be saved on the Day of Resurrection except he who used to worship alah alone with Whom there is no associate. As for the other gods, they will lead their adherents into the Fire.

Voluntary Fasting

 Fasting is one of the major acts of worship with which Allah redeems the fasting person from the Fire. The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam said: ´´Fasting is a shield against the Fire (of Hell) just like the shield one of you would use during fighting.´´80 The supererogatory fasting has its virtue. The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam said: ´´He who observes fast for a day in the path of Allah, He will remove his face from the Hell due to (the fast of) that day to the extent of seventy years.´ distance.´´81 The phrase ´in the path of Allah´ could either mean fasting a day sincerely, intending the pleasure of Allah; or fasting in the course of a military expedition in the path of Allah.

Backbiter and Tale-Bearer

 A backbiter is the individual who indugles in backiting which involves mentioning about your brother that which he would detest. The tale-bearer is the person who varries bad tale among the people in order to cause disaffection among them. These sins cause pervading tribulations, and enormous corruption also stems from them. Their perpetrators are among the worst of people and due to their capricious tongue, they speak as dictated by their whims and desires.  Their situation at the time of resurrection will be appalling as the Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam mentioned, Whoever eats the flesh of his brother in the world (i.e. bacjbites), he will be presented to him on the Day of Resurrection and it will be said to him, Eat his dead as you have eaten him alive. He would eat him and he would scowl and scream.
