Fulfilling the Pillars of Islam

 Shahadah salah zakat hajj fasting

´The Messenger of Allah wasonajourney when a Bedouin Arab appeared before him and caught hold of the nose string of his she-camel and then said: ´´Messenger of Allah (or O Muhammad), inform me about that which will bring me closer to Paradise and distance me away from the Fire (of Hell).´´ He (the narrator) said: The Prophet stopped for a while and cast a glance at his companions and then said: He was afforded a good opportunity (or he had been guided well). He (the Prophet) then adressed the Bedouin: ´´(Repeat) what you have said.´´

He (the Bedouin) repeated his words. Upon this the Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam remarked: ´´The deed which can deaw you near to Paradise and take you away from Hell is, that you worship Allah without associating anyone with Him, and you establish the Prayer and pay the Zakat, and do good to your kin.´´ After having uttered these words, the Prophet sala alayhi wa sallam said to the Bedouin: ´´Release the she-camel.´´´95

Voluntary Fasting

 Fasting is one of the major acts of worship with which Allah redeems the fasting person from the Fire. The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam said: ´´Fasting is a shield against the Fire (of Hell) just like the shield one of you would use during fighting.´´80 The supererogatory fasting has its virtue. The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam said: ´´He who observes fast for a day in the path of Allah, He will remove his face from the Hell due to (the fast of) that day to the extent of seventy years.´ distance.´´81 The phrase ´in the path of Allah´ could either mean fasting a day sincerely, intending the pleasure of Allah; or fasting in the course of a military expedition in the path of Allah.

Backbiter and Tale-Bearer

 A backbiter is the individual who indugles in backiting which involves mentioning about your brother that which he would detest. The tale-bearer is the person who varries bad tale among the people in order to cause disaffection among them. These sins cause pervading tribulations, and enormous corruption also stems from them. Their perpetrators are among the worst of people and due to their capricious tongue, they speak as dictated by their whims and desires.  Their situation at the time of resurrection will be appalling as the Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam mentioned, Whoever eats the flesh of his brother in the world (i.e. bacjbites), he will be presented to him on the Day of Resurrection and it will be said to him, Eat his dead as you have eaten him alive. He would eat him and he would scowl and scream.
