Gatherings of Dhikr

 Gatherings of dhikr and goodness are a means of acquiring goodness, knowledge, learning and teaching. They are also a means of salvation from the Fire. Allah´s Messenger said:

´´Allah has some angels who look for those who celebrate the Praises of allah on the roads and paths. And when they find some people celcbrating the Praises of Allah, they call each other, saying: ´Come to the object of your pursuit.´ Then the angels will encircle them with their wings up to the sky of the world.´´ He added: ´´(Upon the angels´ return), their Lord will ask them, though He knows better than them: ´What are My slaves saying?´

The angels will reply: ´´They are saying SubhanAllah, Allahu Akbar, and Alhamdulillah.´

Allah will then say: ´Have they seen me?´

The angels will reply: ´No! By allah, they have not seen You.´

Allah will say: ´How will they be if they had seen Me?´

The angels will reoly: ´If they had seen You, they would worship You more 

devoulty and extol Your Honour more intensely, and glorify You more often.´

Alah will say (to the angels): ´What do they ask of Me?´

The angels will reply: ´They ask You for Paradise.´

Allah will say (to the angels): have they seen it?´

The angels will say: ´No By Allah, O Lord! They have not seen it.´

Allah will say: ´How will they be if they had seen it?´

The angels will say: ´If they had seen it, they would even covet it more intensely and would seek it with grater zeal and would have grater desire for it.´ Allah will say: ´From what do they seek refuge?´ The angels will reply: ´They seek refuge from the (Hell) Fire.´

Allah will say: ´have they seen it?´

The angels will say: ´No by Allah, O Lord! They have not seen it´

Allah will say: ´How would they be if they had seen it?´

The angels will say: ´If they had seen it they would flee from it with the extreme fleeing and would have extreme fear from it.´

The n Allah will say: ´I make you witnesses that I have forgiven them.´ One of the angels will say: ´There was so-and-so amongst them, and he was not one of them, but had just come for some need.´

Allah will say: ´These are those people whose companions will not be wretched.´´´104

 None will be saved on the Day of Resurrection except he who used to worship alah alone with Whom there is no associate. As for the other gods, they will lead their adherents into the Fire.

Voluntary Fasting

 Fasting is one of the major acts of worship with which Allah redeems the fasting person from the Fire. The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam said: ´´Fasting is a shield against the Fire (of Hell) just like the shield one of you would use during fighting.´´80 The supererogatory fasting has its virtue. The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam said: ´´He who observes fast for a day in the path of Allah, He will remove his face from the Hell due to (the fast of) that day to the extent of seventy years.´ distance.´´81 The phrase ´in the path of Allah´ could either mean fasting a day sincerely, intending the pleasure of Allah; or fasting in the course of a military expedition in the path of Allah.

Backbiter and Tale-Bearer

 A backbiter is the individual who indugles in backiting which involves mentioning about your brother that which he would detest. The tale-bearer is the person who varries bad tale among the people in order to cause disaffection among them. These sins cause pervading tribulations, and enormous corruption also stems from them. Their perpetrators are among the worst of people and due to their capricious tongue, they speak as dictated by their whims and desires.  Their situation at the time of resurrection will be appalling as the Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam mentioned, Whoever eats the flesh of his brother in the world (i.e. bacjbites), he will be presented to him on the Day of Resurrection and it will be said to him, Eat his dead as you have eaten him alive. He would eat him and he would scowl and scream.
