Introduction

 The evidence for the requital between the believers prior to their entering al-Jannah is the following statement of Allah´s Messenger salla alayhi wa sallam:

´´The believers, after being saved from the (Hell) Fire, will be stopped at a bridge between Paradise and Hell; mutual retaliatin will be established among them regarding wrongs they have committed in the world against one another. After they are cleansed and purified (through the retaliation), they will be admited into Paradise, and by Him in Whose hand Muhammad´ssoul is, everyone of them will know his dwelling place in Paradise better than he knew his dwelling place in this world.´´69

They will stand and Allah will take their account conerning mutual wrongs and He will settle scores between them over injustice they committed in the world; such that no one will enter Paradise begrudging his brothers. Rather, their hearts will be assuaged and mutual rancour, malice and enmity will be removed from their hearts.

Voluntary Fasting

 Fasting is one of the major acts of worship with which Allah redeems the fasting person from the Fire. The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam said: ´´Fasting is a shield against the Fire (of Hell) just like the shield one of you would use during fighting.´´80 The supererogatory fasting has its virtue. The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam said: ´´He who observes fast for a day in the path of Allah, He will remove his face from the Hell due to (the fast of) that day to the extent of seventy years.´ distance.´´81 The phrase ´in the path of Allah´ could either mean fasting a day sincerely, intending the pleasure of Allah; or fasting in the course of a military expedition in the path of Allah.

Backbiter and Tale-Bearer

 A backbiter is the individual who indugles in backiting which involves mentioning about your brother that which he would detest. The tale-bearer is the person who varries bad tale among the people in order to cause disaffection among them. These sins cause pervading tribulations, and enormous corruption also stems from them. Their perpetrators are among the worst of people and due to their capricious tongue, they speak as dictated by their whims and desires.  Their situation at the time of resurrection will be appalling as the Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam mentioned, Whoever eats the flesh of his brother in the world (i.e. bacjbites), he will be presented to him on the Day of Resurrection and it will be said to him, Eat his dead as you have eaten him alive. He would eat him and he would scowl and scream.
