Pairing a Deity with its Devotee

 The kuffaar and the mushrikun used to exalt the deities which they used to worship besides Allah. They would defend them and sacrific their wealth and selves for these deities in the belief that they can benefit and harm. On the Day of reusrrection, our Lord will cast all of their deities in the Fire to disgrace and denigrate their worshippers. If the deitie can not save themselves how can they save their worshippers?

Allah says:

´´Certainly! You (disbelievers) and that which you are worshipping noe besides allah, are (but) fuel for Hell! (surely), you will it. Had these (idols, etc.) been aliha (gods), they would not have entered there (Hell), and all of them will abide therein.´´ (Al-Anbiyaa: 89-99)

Yes, the worshipper will find his object of worship in the Fire. When a man is paried in punishment along with the one who was the reason for his own punishment, his pain and loss will be acute.

 None will be saved on the Day of Resurrection except he who used to worship alah alone with Whom there is no associate. As for the other gods, they will lead their adherents into the Fire.

Voluntary Fasting

 Fasting is one of the major acts of worship with which Allah redeems the fasting person from the Fire. The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam said: ´´Fasting is a shield against the Fire (of Hell) just like the shield one of you would use during fighting.´´80 The supererogatory fasting has its virtue. The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam said: ´´He who observes fast for a day in the path of Allah, He will remove his face from the Hell due to (the fast of) that day to the extent of seventy years.´ distance.´´81 The phrase ´in the path of Allah´ could either mean fasting a day sincerely, intending the pleasure of Allah; or fasting in the course of a military expedition in the path of Allah.

Backbiter and Tale-Bearer

 A backbiter is the individual who indugles in backiting which involves mentioning about your brother that which he would detest. The tale-bearer is the person who varries bad tale among the people in order to cause disaffection among them. These sins cause pervading tribulations, and enormous corruption also stems from them. Their perpetrators are among the worst of people and due to their capricious tongue, they speak as dictated by their whims and desires.  Their situation at the time of resurrection will be appalling as the Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam mentioned, Whoever eats the flesh of his brother in the world (i.e. bacjbites), he will be presented to him on the Day of Resurrection and it will be said to him, Eat his dead as you have eaten him alive. He would eat him and he would scowl and scream.
