Patience upon Raising Daughters

 The Arabs of the time of ignorance used to abandon the raising of a female child and abhorred her. They would rather raise the boy because he was asumed to bring benefit to his father when he grows up and bears his name. In most cases, the girl was raised to be married of, depart from him (the father) and become preoccupied with her husband and children. Upon its advent, Islam erdicated this practice of ignorance and accorded the female child a right similar to that of the boy. In fact, the Prophet salla alayhi wa salam gave preference to the raising of the girl over the boy and made raising daughters a screen from the Fire.

The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam said:

´´whoever had three daughters or sisters; two daughters or sisters, and fears Allah concerning them and treats them with kindness till they are married off or they die, they wil act for him as a shiels from the Fire.´´102

Voluntary Fasting

 Fasting is one of the major acts of worship with which Allah redeems the fasting person from the Fire. The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam said: ´´Fasting is a shield against the Fire (of Hell) just like the shield one of you would use during fighting.´´80 The supererogatory fasting has its virtue. The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam said: ´´He who observes fast for a day in the path of Allah, He will remove his face from the Hell due to (the fast of) that day to the extent of seventy years.´ distance.´´81 The phrase ´in the path of Allah´ could either mean fasting a day sincerely, intending the pleasure of Allah; or fasting in the course of a military expedition in the path of Allah.

Backbiter and Tale-Bearer

 A backbiter is the individual who indugles in backiting which involves mentioning about your brother that which he would detest. The tale-bearer is the person who varries bad tale among the people in order to cause disaffection among them. These sins cause pervading tribulations, and enormous corruption also stems from them. Their perpetrators are among the worst of people and due to their capricious tongue, they speak as dictated by their whims and desires.  Their situation at the time of resurrection will be appalling as the Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam mentioned, Whoever eats the flesh of his brother in the world (i.e. bacjbites), he will be presented to him on the Day of Resurrection and it will be said to him, Eat his dead as you have eaten him alive. He would eat him and he would scowl and scream.
