The Bed of the Denizens of Hellfire

A bed is something a man reclines upon and a quilt is what he covers himself with. Hence, the denizens of Hellfire will have fire under and above them. Allah says:

´´Theris will be a bad of Hell (Fire), and over them coverings (og Hellfire). Thus do We recompense the zalimun (polythests ad wrong-doers).´´ (Al-A´raaf: 41)

They will lie on fire and be covered by fire. O Allah, deal with us with Your Clemency, O Lord! allah says:

´´They shall have coverings of Fire, above them and covering (of Fire) beneath them; with this Allah does frigten His slaves: ´O My slaves, therefore fear Me)!´´ (Az-Zumar:16)

The inmates of Hellfire will have over them levels of fire, arranged on above another, like shades. Similarly there will be levels of fire underneath them. Hence, they will be encased on fire on all sides.

Voluntary Fasting

 Fasting is one of the major acts of worship with which Allah redeems the fasting person from the Fire. The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam said: ´´Fasting is a shield against the Fire (of Hell) just like the shield one of you would use during fighting.´´80 The supererogatory fasting has its virtue. The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam said: ´´He who observes fast for a day in the path of Allah, He will remove his face from the Hell due to (the fast of) that day to the extent of seventy years.´ distance.´´81 The phrase ´in the path of Allah´ could either mean fasting a day sincerely, intending the pleasure of Allah; or fasting in the course of a military expedition in the path of Allah.

Backbiter and Tale-Bearer

 A backbiter is the individual who indugles in backiting which involves mentioning about your brother that which he would detest. The tale-bearer is the person who varries bad tale among the people in order to cause disaffection among them. These sins cause pervading tribulations, and enormous corruption also stems from them. Their perpetrators are among the worst of people and due to their capricious tongue, they speak as dictated by their whims and desires.  Their situation at the time of resurrection will be appalling as the Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam mentioned, Whoever eats the flesh of his brother in the world (i.e. bacjbites), he will be presented to him on the Day of Resurrection and it will be said to him, Eat his dead as you have eaten him alive. He would eat him and he would scowl and scream.
