The Disbelievers´ righteous deed is not accepted by Allah; so how will it benefit them such that it will lessen their punishment?

 ´The answer to this is that the pre-requisite for the acceptance of an action to Allah is the declaration of Islam. Hence, allah says:

´´and whoever seek a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted of him, and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers.´´ (Aal-Imraan: 85)

The disbelievers´ deeds will not benefit them and it will not suffice them to come out of Hellfire but it will ameliorate their punishment as in the case of Abu Talib, the Prophet´s uncle, whose punishment will be lessened due to his defence of the Prophet. However, because he wss an idol worshipper, polytheist and was not a monotheist, he will not enter al-Jannah; but his will be the least punishment. Allah says:

´´Verily, whosoever set up partners in worship with Allah, then allah has forbidden Paradise fro him, and the Fire will be hos abode. And for the zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers) there are no helpers.´´ (Al-Maaidah: 72)

Voluntary Fasting

 Fasting is one of the major acts of worship with which Allah redeems the fasting person from the Fire. The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam said: ´´Fasting is a shield against the Fire (of Hell) just like the shield one of you would use during fighting.´´80 The supererogatory fasting has its virtue. The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam said: ´´He who observes fast for a day in the path of Allah, He will remove his face from the Hell due to (the fast of) that day to the extent of seventy years.´ distance.´´81 The phrase ´in the path of Allah´ could either mean fasting a day sincerely, intending the pleasure of Allah; or fasting in the course of a military expedition in the path of Allah.

Backbiter and Tale-Bearer

 A backbiter is the individual who indugles in backiting which involves mentioning about your brother that which he would detest. The tale-bearer is the person who varries bad tale among the people in order to cause disaffection among them. These sins cause pervading tribulations, and enormous corruption also stems from them. Their perpetrators are among the worst of people and due to their capricious tongue, they speak as dictated by their whims and desires.  Their situation at the time of resurrection will be appalling as the Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam mentioned, Whoever eats the flesh of his brother in the world (i.e. bacjbites), he will be presented to him on the Day of Resurrection and it will be said to him, Eat his dead as you have eaten him alive. He would eat him and he would scowl and scream.
