The Extent of the Speed of those who Cross the Siraat

 The poeple crossing the Sirat wil differ in the speed with which they will pass over it in accordance to the strength of the illumination they see in front of them. The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam has described their situations:

´´The Siraat is like the sharpness of the sword, slippery and unstable. It will be said to them: ´Proceed to the extent of your light.´ Hence, some of them will pass like the shooting of a star. Some will pass like wind. Some will pass in a blink (of an eye). Some will pass like the movement of a man jogging; the swiftness of which is according to their deeds. (This will continue) until someone will pass whose light will be on his big toe; shining and dimming intermittently and his feet will quicken and halt (accordingly). His sides will be caught by the Fire and it will relase him. When they are eventually let off, they will say: Praise be to Allah Who saved us from you after He made us experience you. He has given us what has not been given to anyone else.´´65

Voluntary Fasting

 Fasting is one of the major acts of worship with which Allah redeems the fasting person from the Fire. The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam said: ´´Fasting is a shield against the Fire (of Hell) just like the shield one of you would use during fighting.´´80 The supererogatory fasting has its virtue. The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam said: ´´He who observes fast for a day in the path of Allah, He will remove his face from the Hell due to (the fast of) that day to the extent of seventy years.´ distance.´´81 The phrase ´in the path of Allah´ could either mean fasting a day sincerely, intending the pleasure of Allah; or fasting in the course of a military expedition in the path of Allah.

Backbiter and Tale-Bearer

 A backbiter is the individual who indugles in backiting which involves mentioning about your brother that which he would detest. The tale-bearer is the person who varries bad tale among the people in order to cause disaffection among them. These sins cause pervading tribulations, and enormous corruption also stems from them. Their perpetrators are among the worst of people and due to their capricious tongue, they speak as dictated by their whims and desires.  Their situation at the time of resurrection will be appalling as the Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam mentioned, Whoever eats the flesh of his brother in the world (i.e. bacjbites), he will be presented to him on the Day of Resurrection and it will be said to him, Eat his dead as you have eaten him alive. He would eat him and he would scowl and scream.
