The Pleasing of the Two Opponents
On the authority of Abu Hurayrah who said: ´´While the Messenger of Allah salla alayhi wa sallam was sitting one day, I saw him laugh so broadly that his front tooth appeared. It was said to him: ´What made you laugh, O Messenger of Allah salla alayhi wa sallam?´ He said:
´Two men from my Ummah were on their knees in the presence of my Lord. One of them said: ´´O Lord, take for me my right from my brother.´´´Allah said: ´´Give ack to your brother his right.´´ The companions said: ´´O Lord, nothing remains of my righteous deeds.´´ The other companion said: ´´O Lord, let him bear some of my sins.´´ Then the eyes of the Messenger of Allah salla alayhi wa sallam were flooded with tears. He said: ´´Tat is a Day when people will wish that others bear their sins.´´
Then Allah the Exalted said to the one demanding his right: ´´Raise your gaze.´´
He raised it and said: ´´O Lord, I can see cities of gold palaces of gold, garlanded with pearls! For which nabiy (Prophet), or siddeeq (truthful one), or shaheed (martyr) are these?´´
He said: ´´They are for whoever gives Me its price.´´
The man said: ´´Who can aford the price of all that?´´
Allah said: ´´You.´´
The man said: ´´With what?´´
Allah said: ´´With your pardon of your brother.´´
He said: ´´O Lord, I have forgiven him.´´
He (Allah) said: ´´Take your brother´s hand and lead him into Paradise.´´ Then the Messenger of Allah salla alayhi wa sallam added: ´´So fear Allah and reconcile between yourselves for Allah will reconcile between the believers on the Day of Judgment.´´70
This will be the conclusion of the accounting which began before their crossing the Siraat. What is well-know to us is that from whoever revenge is exerted and from whom other people´s rights are extracted, be will undoubtedly feel pain due to that. However, all of that will vanish from him upon entering al-Jannah
