The Proportion of the Believer´s Light

 Everyone who will cross over the Bridge among the believers and the hyoicrites will be given light as Allah´s Messenger salla alayhi wa sallam stated concerning seeing Allah:

´´Then He will manifest Himself to them smilingly, andwill go along with them and they will follow Him. Every person, whether a hypocrite or a believer, will be endowed with a light, and there will be spikes and hooks on the Bridge of Hell; which will catch hold of those whom Allah wills. Then the light of the hypocrites will be extinguished, and the believers will secure salvation. And the first group to achieve it will consist of seventu thousand men who will have the brightness of the full moon on their faces; and they will not be called to account.´´60

Every believer will be given his light to the extent of his righteous deeds. The believers will dash across the Bridge according to teh extent of the light in front on him; and according the strength of the illumination ahead of him he wil hasten in the movement.

This is as Allah´s Messenger salla alayhi wa sallam said:

´´Some of them will be endowed with a light the size of a montain. Some of them will be endowed with a light that is more than that. Some of them will be given a light the size of a palm tree on their right hands; and some others wil be given less than that on their right hands, to the extent that the last of them will be the one that will be given his light on his big toe; which will shine on and off. When it gleams, his pace will quicken and when it goes off, he will stop. So they will proceed across the Bridge.´´61

 None will be saved on the Day of Resurrection except he who used to worship alah alone with Whom there is no associate. As for the other gods, they will lead their adherents into the Fire.

Voluntary Fasting

 Fasting is one of the major acts of worship with which Allah redeems the fasting person from the Fire. The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam said: ´´Fasting is a shield against the Fire (of Hell) just like the shield one of you would use during fighting.´´80 The supererogatory fasting has its virtue. The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam said: ´´He who observes fast for a day in the path of Allah, He will remove his face from the Hell due to (the fast of) that day to the extent of seventy years.´ distance.´´81 The phrase ´in the path of Allah´ could either mean fasting a day sincerely, intending the pleasure of Allah; or fasting in the course of a military expedition in the path of Allah.

Backbiter and Tale-Bearer

 A backbiter is the individual who indugles in backiting which involves mentioning about your brother that which he would detest. The tale-bearer is the person who varries bad tale among the people in order to cause disaffection among them. These sins cause pervading tribulations, and enormous corruption also stems from them. Their perpetrators are among the worst of people and due to their capricious tongue, they speak as dictated by their whims and desires.  Their situation at the time of resurrection will be appalling as the Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam mentioned, Whoever eats the flesh of his brother in the world (i.e. bacjbites), he will be presented to him on the Day of Resurrection and it will be said to him, Eat his dead as you have eaten him alive. He would eat him and he would scowl and scream.
