Uttering a Just Word and Giving (from the) Excess

A Bedouin Arab approached the Messenger of Allah and said:

´´Inform me of an action which will bring me closer to al-Jannah and distance me from Hellfire.´´

The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam said: ´´Will you be able to do them?´´

´´Yes,´´ he said.

The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam then said: ´´Be just in your speech and give out of your excess.´´

The man said: ´´By Allah, I will not be able to do that every time and I can´t give out of the excess.´´´

´´Then feed others and spread the greeting of peace,´´ the Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam said.

The man replied: ´´This is also hard for me.´´

The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam asked: ´´Do you have a camel?´

´´Yes,´´ he said.

The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam then said: ´´Check one of your camels and water skin and proceed to the occupants of a house who do not drink water except ghibban and provide them water, perhaps your camel will not die and your water skin will not be torn before al-Jannah becomes binding for you.´´ So, the Bedouin proceded while extolling Allah´s Creatness and his water skin had not been torn and his camel had not died before he was martyred.99
