Visdom in Creating Shaytaan
Both good and evil are from the creation of Allah. Allah has clarified two paths to mankind. He says:
´´And by nafs (Aadam or a person or a soul, etc.), and Him Who perfected him in proportion; then He showed him is wrong for him and what is right for him; indeed he succeeds who purifies his own self (i.e. obeys and performs all that Allah ordered, by following the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism and by doing righteous good deeds). And indeed he fails who corrupts his own self (i.e. disobeys what Allah has ordered by rejecting the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism or by following polytheism, etc. or by doing every kind of evil wicked deeds).´´ (As-Shams: 7-10) Allah also says:
´´Then, for him who tagha (transgressed all bounds in disbeliev, oppressopm amd evil deeds of disobedience to Allah). And preferred the life of his world (by following his evil desires and lusts), verily, his abode will be Hellfire; But as for him who feared standing before his Lord, and restrained himself from impure evil desires, and lusts. Verily, Paradise will be his abode.´´ (An-Naazi´aat: 37-41)
Iblees has also threatened mankind and made their misguidance his major concern. Iblees said:
´´Se? This one whom You honoured above me, if You give me respite (keep me alive) to the Day of Resurrection, I will surely seize and mislead his offspring (by them astray) all but a few!´´ (Al-Israa: 62)
It is as if Shaytaan is saying: ´´This human whom You have honoured and to whom You have ordered me to prostrate, will soon cause corruption on the earth, spill blood. O Lord, allow me to beguile him and I shall accomplish all that.´´
Allah could decline his request and cast him into Hellfire instantly, but Allah´s wisdom dictated that He let him be as a test of people´s faith. Hence, He granted Iblees the chance to attempt his threat and granted him respite. Allah says:
´´Shaytaan (Satan) threatens you with poverty and orders you to commit fahsha (evil deeds, illegal sexual intercourse, sins etc.); whereas Allah promises you forgiveness from Himself and bounty, and Allah is All-Sufficient for His creatures´ needs, All-Knower.´´ (Al-Baqarah: 268)
