Attributes of the Pccupants of the Chambers of Paradise

 The lofty chambers of Paradise have their occupants and the Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam has described their deeds in the following words:

´´In Paradise there are chambers whose interior can be seen from the exterior, and the exterior can be seen from the interior. Allah has prepared them for those who feed the hungry, and speak softly and gently, fast continuously and pray at night whilst the people are asleep.´´202

Allah, the Exalted, has prepared in Paradise transparent chambers that hide nothing behind them. These are prepared for the one who makes his character good, the one who is soft and gentle in his/her manners when s/ he speaks with other people, the one who deals gently with others, overlooks their mistakes and repays evil with good.

This is also the case for the one who feeds everyone without exception; and treats the poor and the visitors with complete generosity. In addition to that, he is also an ardent worshipper who stands in the middle of the night in the presence of his Lord while others are asleep. This points to the sincerity of their worship of Allah and truthfulness of their love for Him.

Voluntary Fasting

 Fasting is one of the major acts of worship with which Allah redeems the fasting person from the Fire. The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam said: ´´Fasting is a shield against the Fire (of Hell) just like the shield one of you would use during fighting.´´80 The supererogatory fasting has its virtue. The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam said: ´´He who observes fast for a day in the path of Allah, He will remove his face from the Hell due to (the fast of) that day to the extent of seventy years.´ distance.´´81 The phrase ´in the path of Allah´ could either mean fasting a day sincerely, intending the pleasure of Allah; or fasting in the course of a military expedition in the path of Allah.

Backbiter and Tale-Bearer

 A backbiter is the individual who indugles in backiting which involves mentioning about your brother that which he would detest. The tale-bearer is the person who varries bad tale among the people in order to cause disaffection among them. These sins cause pervading tribulations, and enormous corruption also stems from them. Their perpetrators are among the worst of people and due to their capricious tongue, they speak as dictated by their whims and desires.  Their situation at the time of resurrection will be appalling as the Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam mentioned, Whoever eats the flesh of his brother in the world (i.e. bacjbites), he will be presented to him on the Day of Resurrection and it will be said to him, Eat his dead as you have eaten him alive. He would eat him and he would scowl and scream.
