The Keepers of Paradise

 Despite the vastness, beauty and numerousness of its residents, Allah created for Paradise keepers and servants. Al-Khazanah is the plural of Khaazin just as hafazhah is the plural of haafiz.

Who are these keepers?

Are they angels?

What is their number?

What will be their duties?

Introduction

Allah made noble angels the keepers of Paradise. They will welcome the residents of Paradise upon their entering it. Allah says:

´´And those who kept their duty to their Lord will be led to Paradise in groups, till, when they reach it, and its gates will be opened (before their arrival for their reception) and its keepers will say: Salamun ´ALaikum (peace be upon you)! You have done well, so enter here to abide therein).´´´ )Az-Zumar: 73)

The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam said:

´´I will come to the gate of al-Jannah on the Day of Resurrection and seek its opening and the keeper will say: ´Who are you?´

I will say: ´(I am) Muhammad.´

He will say: ´I have been ordered not to open for anyone before you.´´´197

This hadith affirms the presence of keepers for Paradise and also established the excellence and honour our Prophet has with Allah, the Exalted and that he is undoubtedly the leader of the sons of Aadam on the Day of Resurrectiom.

Voluntary Fasting

 Fasting is one of the major acts of worship with which Allah redeems the fasting person from the Fire. The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam said: ´´Fasting is a shield against the Fire (of Hell) just like the shield one of you would use during fighting.´´80 The supererogatory fasting has its virtue. The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam said: ´´He who observes fast for a day in the path of Allah, He will remove his face from the Hell due to (the fast of) that day to the extent of seventy years.´ distance.´´81 The phrase ´in the path of Allah´ could either mean fasting a day sincerely, intending the pleasure of Allah; or fasting in the course of a military expedition in the path of Allah.

Backbiter and Tale-Bearer

 A backbiter is the individual who indugles in backiting which involves mentioning about your brother that which he would detest. The tale-bearer is the person who varries bad tale among the people in order to cause disaffection among them. These sins cause pervading tribulations, and enormous corruption also stems from them. Their perpetrators are among the worst of people and due to their capricious tongue, they speak as dictated by their whims and desires.  Their situation at the time of resurrection will be appalling as the Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam mentioned, Whoever eats the flesh of his brother in the world (i.e. bacjbites), he will be presented to him on the Day of Resurrection and it will be said to him, Eat his dead as you have eaten him alive. He would eat him and he would scowl and scream.
