The Levels of Paradise

 Paradise is of different levels and people will occupy them according to their deeds. Just as the believers vary in their desire to abey (Allah) and attendance to good deeds in the world, so shall the levels they accupy in the Hereafter be in accordance with their deeds.

Allah says:

´´But whoever comes to HIm (Allah) as a believer (in the Oneness of Allah, etc.) and has done righteous good deeds, for such are the high ranks (In the Hereafter).´´ (Taha: 75)

He also says:

´´Not equal among you are those who spent and fought before the conquering (of Makkah) (with those among you who did so later). Such are higher in degree than those who spent and fought afterwards. But to all, Allah has promised the best (reward).´´ (Al-Hadeed: 10)

What are the levels of Paradise?

What is the distance between them?

How can a person increase in levels?

Paradise comprises of levels of varying superiority, ranks of varying lofty heights, delights and comforts. The believers will occupy these levels based on their eemaan and piety.

The Messenger of Allah salla alayhi wa sallam said:

´´The people of Paradise will behold the people of the ghuraf (levels or abodes) above them; as you see a glittering star remaining in the eastern horizon and the western horizon due to the superority between them.´´ The Companions said: ´´O Messenger of Allah, those will be the abodes of the Prophets and no one will get there but them?´´ He said: I swear by Him in Whose Hand is my life, their occupants will be men who belived in Allah and the Messenger

 None will be saved on the Day of Resurrection except he who used to worship alah alone with Whom there is no associate. As for the other gods, they will lead their adherents into the Fire.

Voluntary Fasting

 Fasting is one of the major acts of worship with which Allah redeems the fasting person from the Fire. The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam said: ´´Fasting is a shield against the Fire (of Hell) just like the shield one of you would use during fighting.´´80 The supererogatory fasting has its virtue. The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam said: ´´He who observes fast for a day in the path of Allah, He will remove his face from the Hell due to (the fast of) that day to the extent of seventy years.´ distance.´´81 The phrase ´in the path of Allah´ could either mean fasting a day sincerely, intending the pleasure of Allah; or fasting in the course of a military expedition in the path of Allah.

Backbiter and Tale-Bearer

 A backbiter is the individual who indugles in backiting which involves mentioning about your brother that which he would detest. The tale-bearer is the person who varries bad tale among the people in order to cause disaffection among them. These sins cause pervading tribulations, and enormous corruption also stems from them. Their perpetrators are among the worst of people and due to their capricious tongue, they speak as dictated by their whims and desires.  Their situation at the time of resurrection will be appalling as the Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam mentioned, Whoever eats the flesh of his brother in the world (i.e. bacjbites), he will be presented to him on the Day of Resurrection and it will be said to him, Eat his dead as you have eaten him alive. He would eat him and he would scowl and scream.
