The Springs of Paradise

 From the perfection of the beauty of Paradise is that Allah has placed in it rivers and springs that will flow in its differnet sides with assorted and seet drinks. Allah informs us that there are springs in Paradise. ´´Truly! The muttaqun (pious and righteous people) will be amidst gardens and water-springs (Paradise).´´ (Al-Hijr:45)

i.e. gardens under which rivers flow and the earth will gush forth with its sweet and fresh springs of assorted sweet drinks.

Allah mentions these springs in His Book to encourage His servants and to sharpen their yearing for them. He says:

´´Verily! the muttaqun (Pious) will be in the midst of gardens and springs (In the Paradise), taking joy in the things which their Lord has given them. Verily, they were before this mushinun (good-doers). They used to sleep but little by night [invoking their Lord (Allah)and praying, with fear and hope]. And in the hours before dawn, they were (found) asking (Allah) for forgivness, and in their properties there was the right of the beggar, and the mahrum (the poor who does not ask the others.´´ (ahd-Dhaariyaat: 154-19)

Voluntary Fasting

 Fasting is one of the major acts of worship with which Allah redeems the fasting person from the Fire. The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam said: ´´Fasting is a shield against the Fire (of Hell) just like the shield one of you would use during fighting.´´80 The supererogatory fasting has its virtue. The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam said: ´´He who observes fast for a day in the path of Allah, He will remove his face from the Hell due to (the fast of) that day to the extent of seventy years.´ distance.´´81 The phrase ´in the path of Allah´ could either mean fasting a day sincerely, intending the pleasure of Allah; or fasting in the course of a military expedition in the path of Allah.

Backbiter and Tale-Bearer

 A backbiter is the individual who indugles in backiting which involves mentioning about your brother that which he would detest. The tale-bearer is the person who varries bad tale among the people in order to cause disaffection among them. These sins cause pervading tribulations, and enormous corruption also stems from them. Their perpetrators are among the worst of people and due to their capricious tongue, they speak as dictated by their whims and desires.  Their situation at the time of resurrection will be appalling as the Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam mentioned, Whoever eats the flesh of his brother in the world (i.e. bacjbites), he will be presented to him on the Day of Resurrection and it will be said to him, Eat his dead as you have eaten him alive. He would eat him and he would scowl and scream.
