Types of Rivers
The rivers of Paradise are of different varieties and types. Allah says:
´´The description of Paradise which the myttaqun (pious) have been promised is that in it are rivers of water the taste and smell of which are not changed; rivers of milk of which the taste never changes; rivers of wine delicious to those who drink; and rivers of clarified honey (clear and pure); therein for them is every kind of fruit; and forgivneness from their Lord. (Are these) like those who shall dwell for ever in the Fire, and be given, to drink, boiling water, so that it cuts up their bowels.´´ (Muhammad: 15)
Allah mentions these four classes of rivers and nullifies from each of them the ailments that occur to and corrupts its type in the world.
The aliment of milk of the world is the change in its taste to sourness which spils it for the one who drinkt it. Allah inform us that the taste of the milk of Paradise will not change but remain constant in good and fresh taste.
The aliment of water of the world is that it becomes stagnant, thus changing its smell or taste. This will not happen to the water of Paradise.
The aliment of wine of the world is its odious taste, filthy odour and the intoxication and loss of senses that result from consuming it. All these are far removed from the wine of the Hereafter.
The aliment of honey of the world is lack of filtering from particles and this is not the case with they honey of Paradise which is sparkling.
It is from the signs of Allah that these types of rivers will flow in a manner different from the traditional way rivers are known to flow in the world. What is even more
astronishing is that these rivers will flow without furrows (course) or troughs which will hem them on their sides coupled with its purity from all maladies which could impede its perfect deliciousness.
Simiarly, the wine of Paradise is purified from all the maladies contained in the worldly wine such as headaches and vain talk.
The wine of the world is from the filthy work of Shaytan by which he generates enmity and hatred among the people and impedes them from the remerbrance of Allah and from offering salaah. It induces fornication and profligacy and it effeces the sense of honour. It is the mother of all evil and begets every evil and despicable act, thus, Allah remove all of these deplorable consequences from the wine of Paradise.
Observe that the combinations of the rivers are the best drinks of mankind. One of them is their drink, another is their food, and one is their nourishement. One is their enjoyment and joy and another is for their healing and benefit.
