Chapter. The saying of Allah to Adam: ´´Bring out the patch for Fire from every thousand, nine hundred and ninetynine.´´

 103. Abu Sa´id

narrated that the Messenger of Allah salla alayhi wa sallam: ´´Allah will say, ´O Adam! He will reply, ´Labbaik and Sa´daik, wal-khair fi Yadaik (and all the good is in Your Hands)!´ Then Allah will say, ´´Bring our the patch of the people of Fire.´

He will say, ´´What patch of Fire?´ Allah will say, ´Our of every thousand (take out) none hundred and ninety-nine people.´´´

The narrator said: At that point a child´s hair turns gray, ´´and every pregnant drops her load, and you see mankind as drunken, they are not drunken but the torment of Allah is very severe.´´ (22:2) That news distressed the Companions of the Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam too much, and they said: ´´O Messenger of Allah! Who among us will be that man (they lucky one out of one thousand who will be saved from the Fire)?´´ The Messenger of Allah salla alayhi wa sallam said: ´´Rejoice! It will be one thousand from Yajuj and Majuj (Gog and Magog people) and the one (to be saved will be) from you.´´ The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam added, ´´By Him in Whose Hans is my life, I hope that you will be one-fourth of the people of Jannah.

On that we praised Allah and said: ´´Allahu Akbar.´´ Then he said: ´´I hope that you will be one-third of the people of Jannah.´´ On that we praised Allah and said: ´´Allahu akbar.´´ The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam then said: ´´By Him in Whose Hand is my life, I hope that you will be one-half of the people of Jannah. You in comparison with the other peoples are like a while hair in the skin of a black ox or like the mole on a donkey´s shoulder.´´
