They Story of a Fellow and his Companion

 The people of Paradise will meet, visit one another and recollect their mutual affairs in the world. They will discuss, socialise and ask one another about individuals who used to be with them in the world. While they recline on raised thrones, they will ask one another about the situation in which they were in the world till their discussion and reveollection will remind on eof the believers of a man who used to accompany him in the world and who used to deny the Day of Resurrection and make him despair about meeting Allah. This man will speak about this evil companions to the other dewellers of Paradsie. Allah, the Mighty and Exalted, describes this event in the following words in the Qur´an:

´´Then they will turn to one another, mutually questioning. A speaker of them will say: ´Verily, I had a companion (in the world) Who used to say: ´´Are you among those who believe (in resurrection after death); (That) when we die and become dust and bones, shall we indeed (be raised up) to reveive reward or punishment (according to our deeds).?´´ (As-Saafaar: 50-53)

When they realise that this fellow is not with them in Paradise, one of the believers will suggest that they go and peep into the Hellfire to check him out. This is as our Lord, Glory be to Him, says:

´´(The man) said: ´Will you look down?´´´ (As-Saafaat: 54)

 None will be saved on the Day of Resurrection except he who used to worship alah alone with Whom there is no associate. As for the other gods, they will lead their adherents into the Fire.

Voluntary Fasting

 Fasting is one of the major acts of worship with which Allah redeems the fasting person from the Fire. The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam said: ´´Fasting is a shield against the Fire (of Hell) just like the shield one of you would use during fighting.´´80 The supererogatory fasting has its virtue. The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam said: ´´He who observes fast for a day in the path of Allah, He will remove his face from the Hell due to (the fast of) that day to the extent of seventy years.´ distance.´´81 The phrase ´in the path of Allah´ could either mean fasting a day sincerely, intending the pleasure of Allah; or fasting in the course of a military expedition in the path of Allah.

Backbiter and Tale-Bearer

 A backbiter is the individual who indugles in backiting which involves mentioning about your brother that which he would detest. The tale-bearer is the person who varries bad tale among the people in order to cause disaffection among them. These sins cause pervading tribulations, and enormous corruption also stems from them. Their perpetrators are among the worst of people and due to their capricious tongue, they speak as dictated by their whims and desires.  Their situation at the time of resurrection will be appalling as the Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam mentioned, Whoever eats the flesh of his brother in the world (i.e. bacjbites), he will be presented to him on the Day of Resurrection and it will be said to him, Eat his dead as you have eaten him alive. He would eat him and he would scowl and scream.
