The Prophet´s visit to Paradise and his informing his Ummah about what he saw there

This is one of the clearest proofs on the existence of Paradise. The Prophet, blessings and peace of Allah be upon him, had visited Paradise and entered it in a state of wakefulness when he was taken on the night journey to the heavens. He informed his followers about what he saw there. Allah says in this regard: ´´Glorified (and Exakted) is He (Allah) (about al that (evil) they associate with Him) Who took His slave (Muhammad salla alayhi wa sallam) for a journey by night from Al-Masjid-al-Haraam (at Makkah) to the farthest mosque (in Jerusalem), the neightborhood whereof We have blessed, in order that We might show him (Muhammad) of Our Ayaat (proofs, evidences, lessons, signs, etc.). Verily, He is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer.´´ (Al-Israa´ 17:1) ´´And indeed he [Muhammad (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him] saw him [Jibreel (Gabriel)] at a second desvent (i.e. another time) near Sidrat-ul-Muntaha (a lote-tree of the utmost boundary over the seventh heaven beyond which non...

2. Allah´s good tiding to the believers

Allah gave good tidings of Paradise to His believers servants in many verses of the Glorious Qur´an some of which are: ´´And give glad tidings to those who believe and do righteous good deeds, that for them will be Gardens under which river flow (Paradise).´´ (Al-Baqarah 2:25) ´´Those who believed (in the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism) and emigrated and strove hard and fought in Allah´s Cause with their wealth and their lives are far higher in degree with Allah. They are the successful. Their Lord gives them glad tidings of Mercy from Him, and His being plased (with them), and of Gardens (Paradise) for them wherein are everfasting delights.´´ (At-Tawbah 9:20-21) ´´Verily, those who say: ´´Our Lord is Allah (Alone),´´ and then they stand firm, on them the angels will descend (at the time of their death) (Saying): ´´Fear not, nor grieve! But receive the glad tidings of Paradise which you havebeen promised!´´ (Fussilat 41:30) These and other verses clearly indicate Allah´s gl...

1. The bargain between the Lord of Honor and Majesty and His believing servants

Allahs Says: ´´Verily, Allah has purchased of the believers their lives and their properties for (the price) that theirs shall be the Paradise. They fight in Allahs´s Cause, so they kill (others) and are killed. It is a promise in truth which is binding on Him in the Taurat (Torah) and they Injeel (Gospel) and the Qur´an. And who is truer to his convenant that Allah? Then rejoice in the bargain which you have concluded. That is the supreme sucess.´´ (At-Tawbah 9:111) The above noble verse indicates that there is a bargain in which the purchaser is Allah, Lord og Glory and Majesty and the sellers are the believers and the commodity is lives and properties and the price is ht eblissful Paradise. Is it then logical that Allah would make a bargain with His servants on an inexistent price?(1)

Does Paradise presently exist?

The opinion of Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jamaa´ah is that Paradise presently exists. They have many proofs for this. Some of these are as follows.

Surah al-A´raf

I Allahs navn, Den Nådigste, Den Barmhjertigste. Alif, Lam, Mim, Sad.

Tayammum (rubbing of hands and face with clan earth in absence of water), and its rulings

Aisha narrated: We set out with the Messenger of Allah salla alayhi wa sallam on one of his journeys until we reached Al-Baida or Dhat-ul-Jaish, when a necklace of mine was broken (and lost). The Messenger of Allah salla alayhi wa sallam stayed there to search for it, and so did the people along ewith him. There was no water at the place, and they had no water with them, so the people went to Abu Bakr and said: ´´Don´t you see what ´Aisha has done? She delayed the Messenger of Allah salla alayhi wa sallam and the people have no water with them.´´ Abu Bakr came while the Messenger of Allah salla alayhi wa sallam was sleeping with his head on my thigh, he said to me: ´´Have you detained the Messenger of Allah salla alayhi wa sallam and the people where there is no water, and they have no water with them?´´ ´Aisha said: So he censured me and said what Allah wished him to say, and hit me on my flank with his hand. Nothing prevented me from moving (becase of pain) except that the Messe...

Interourse and then intended to repeat it, he should perform Wudu´

Abu Sa´id Al-Khudri narrated that the Messenger of Allah salla alayhi wa sallam said: ´´When one of you has sexual interourse with his wife and then intends to repeat it, let him perform Wudu´.´´

Sleeping of a Junub before he takes a bath

´Abdullah bin Abu Qais said: I asked Aisha about the Witr (prayer) of the Messenger of Allah salla alayhi wa sallam (and made mention of theHadith), I said: ´´What did he do after having Janabah (seminal discharge), Did he take a bath before going to sleep or did he slep before taking a bath?´´ She said: ´´He did all these. Sometimes he took a bath and then slept, and sometimes he performed Wudu´ only and went to sleep.´´ I said: ´´Praise be to Allah Who has made things easy (in Islam).´´

The Wudu´ of a Junub, when he intends to sleep or to eat

Aisha narrated: Whenever the Messenger of Allah salla alayhi wa sallam was Junub and intended to sleep or to eat, he used to perform Wudu´ like that for the prayer.

Taking a bath by a man and woman from one vessel after Janabah

Aisha narrated: I and the Messenger of Allah salla alayhi wa sallam used to take bath from one vessel which was placed between me and him and he would get ahead of me, so that I would say: ´´Spare (som water for) me, spare (some water for)me,´´ and she said that they had been in Janabah state.

Covering private parts, a man should not be seen naked

Jabir bin ´Abdullah narrated: While the Messenger of Allah salla alayhi wa sallam was carrying stones (alone) with the people of Makkah for (the building of) the Ka´bah wearing his lzar (lower garment), his uncle Al-´Abbas said to him, ´´O my nephew! (It would be better) if you undo your lzar and put it over your shoulders underneath the stones.´´ So he undid his lzar and put it over his shoulders, but he fell unconscious and since then he had never been seen naked.

Prohibition of looking at private parts of a man or woman

Abu Sa´id Al-Khudri narrated that the Messenger of Allah salla alayhi wa sallam said: ´´Let not a man see the private parts of another man, nor a woman should see the private parts of another woman; and man should not lie with another man under one covering, nor a woman should lie with another woman under one covering.´´

To take a bath alone (naked) in privacy

Abu Hurairah narrated from Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah salla alayhi wa sallam a number of Ahadith. Of which one is that the Messenger of Allah salla alayhi wa sallam said: ´´The Children of Israel used to take bath naked (all together), and they looked at the private parts of one another. Musa however, took a bath alone (in privacy). They said: ´By Allah, nothing prevents Musa to take a bath alon with us, except that he has large testicles.´´ He once went for a bath and placed his clothes on a stone and the stone moved away with his clothes. Musa followed it saying: ´O stone, my clothes; O stone, my clothes,´ until the Children of Israel had the chance to see the private parts of Musa, and said: ´By Allah, Moses does not suffer my ailment.´ The stone then stopped, until Musa was seen by then. He then took hold of his clothes and kept beating the stone. Abu Hurairah said: ´´By Allah, there are six or seven marks of strokes on the stone resulted from the beating Musa gave it.´´...

Using a garment as a curtain while taking a bath

Umm Hani bint Abu Talib narrated: It was the year of the Conquest (of Makkah) that she went to the Messenger of Allah salla alayhi wa sallam and he was staying at a higher part of Makkah. The Messenger of Allah salla alayhi wa sallam got up for his bath. Fatimah was screeing him. He then put on his garments and wrapped himself with that and then performed eight Rak´ah of the Forenoon prayer.
