Jihad in the path of Allah

 Jihad is the apex of Islam and the practice of the noble Messengers. Whoever dies without waging jihad or even thinking about it dies upon a branch of hypocrisy. Allah has said:

´´Jihad (holy fighting in Allah´s Cause) is ordained for you (Muslims) though you dislike it, and it may be that you dislike a thing which is good for you and that you like a thing is bad for you. Allah knows but you do not know.´´ (Al-Baqarah: 216)

Allah promised the muhahidun admittance into Paradise. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:

´´Allah guarantess the one who goes out to strive in His Cause and whose motivation for going out is nothing but jihad in My Cause, faith in Me and belief in My Messengers that I will admit him into Paradise (if martyred) or bring him back (safe) to his dwelling place from where he came out, with whatever he has gained of reward or booty. By Him in Whose Hand the soul of Muhammad is, anu wound which a Muslim receives in Allah´s Cause will appear on the Day of Resurrection as it was at the time of infliction; its colour will be that of blood but its smeel will be like musk. By Him in Whose Hand the soul of Muhammad is, were it not for some men amongst the believers who dislike to be left behind me and whom I cannot provide with means of conveyance, I would certainly never leave behind any Saraya´ (army unit) setting out in Allah´s Cause. By Him in Whose Hand the soul of Muhammad is, I would love to be martyred in Allah´s Cause and then get resurrected and then get martyred, and then get resurrected again and then get martyred and then get resurrected again and then get martyred.´´162

Voluntary Fasting

 Fasting is one of the major acts of worship with which Allah redeems the fasting person from the Fire. The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam said: ´´Fasting is a shield against the Fire (of Hell) just like the shield one of you would use during fighting.´´80 The supererogatory fasting has its virtue. The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam said: ´´He who observes fast for a day in the path of Allah, He will remove his face from the Hell due to (the fast of) that day to the extent of seventy years.´ distance.´´81 The phrase ´in the path of Allah´ could either mean fasting a day sincerely, intending the pleasure of Allah; or fasting in the course of a military expedition in the path of Allah.

Backbiter and Tale-Bearer

 A backbiter is the individual who indugles in backiting which involves mentioning about your brother that which he would detest. The tale-bearer is the person who varries bad tale among the people in order to cause disaffection among them. These sins cause pervading tribulations, and enormous corruption also stems from them. Their perpetrators are among the worst of people and due to their capricious tongue, they speak as dictated by their whims and desires.  Their situation at the time of resurrection will be appalling as the Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam mentioned, Whoever eats the flesh of his brother in the world (i.e. bacjbites), he will be presented to him on the Day of Resurrection and it will be said to him, Eat his dead as you have eaten him alive. He would eat him and he would scowl and scream.
