The Throne of Iblees

 The Messenger of Allah salla alayhi wa sallam informed us that Iblees placed his throne on water. This is where he dispatches his brigades from among his Shaytaan followers, to mislead mankind and to cause disaffection among them. He organizes his aids from here and it serves for him as a command centre. The closet to him in status is the shaytaan that causes the greatest type of dissension and he rewards his foot soldiers.

´´One of them will come and say: ´I did so and so,´ and he will say: ´You have done nothing.´

Another one will come and say: ´I did so and so,´ and he will say: ´You have done nothing.´

Then another will come and say: ´I did not spare him (his victin among mankind) until I sowed the seed of discord between him and his wife.´ Then Shaytaan will say: ´You have done well.´´´149

Hence, a man should know that the source of every dispute, dissension and anger is none other than Shaytaan. He should seek Allah´s refuge from his evil and be wary of his deceit.

Voluntary Fasting

 Fasting is one of the major acts of worship with which Allah redeems the fasting person from the Fire. The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam said: ´´Fasting is a shield against the Fire (of Hell) just like the shield one of you would use during fighting.´´80 The supererogatory fasting has its virtue. The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam said: ´´He who observes fast for a day in the path of Allah, He will remove his face from the Hell due to (the fast of) that day to the extent of seventy years.´ distance.´´81 The phrase ´in the path of Allah´ could either mean fasting a day sincerely, intending the pleasure of Allah; or fasting in the course of a military expedition in the path of Allah.

Backbiter and Tale-Bearer

 A backbiter is the individual who indugles in backiting which involves mentioning about your brother that which he would detest. The tale-bearer is the person who varries bad tale among the people in order to cause disaffection among them. These sins cause pervading tribulations, and enormous corruption also stems from them. Their perpetrators are among the worst of people and due to their capricious tongue, they speak as dictated by their whims and desires.  Their situation at the time of resurrection will be appalling as the Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam mentioned, Whoever eats the flesh of his brother in the world (i.e. bacjbites), he will be presented to him on the Day of Resurrection and it will be said to him, Eat his dead as you have eaten him alive. He would eat him and he would scowl and scream.
