Al-Hawdh (The Pond)

 The believers will meet the Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam at the Pond. With his own noble hand he will give them a pleasant drink; due to which they shall never feel thirsty again. Some of the hypocrites and apostates will be repelled from the Pond of the Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam and they will not be given a drink

Introduction

When the standing of the Day of Resurrection becomes lengthened for the people on the plain of gathering as nations throng together; from Aadam to the last person to die from the last generation, at that time, thirst and fright will intensify, and parched mouths will crave for a drink of water. Then the Pond belonging to the Prophet of each nation will appear from which his followers will drink; some will drink from it and others will be driven back.

Hawdh is a place in which water collects. As for the Hawdh of our Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam, it will be a location of fresh water with allah will honour His slave and Messenger, Muhammad on the great Day of Resurrection.

It will be a large pond occupaying a vast space and its water reaching the pinnade of clarity. Its water is whiter than milk, sweeter than honey and its scent more pleasant than musk. Its drinking vessels are as numerous as the number of stars in the sky. The Ummah of our Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam will descend on it and whoever drinks from it will never feel thirsty again afterwards.

Voluntary Fasting

 Fasting is one of the major acts of worship with which Allah redeems the fasting person from the Fire. The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam said: ´´Fasting is a shield against the Fire (of Hell) just like the shield one of you would use during fighting.´´80 The supererogatory fasting has its virtue. The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam said: ´´He who observes fast for a day in the path of Allah, He will remove his face from the Hell due to (the fast of) that day to the extent of seventy years.´ distance.´´81 The phrase ´in the path of Allah´ could either mean fasting a day sincerely, intending the pleasure of Allah; or fasting in the course of a military expedition in the path of Allah.

Backbiter and Tale-Bearer

 A backbiter is the individual who indugles in backiting which involves mentioning about your brother that which he would detest. The tale-bearer is the person who varries bad tale among the people in order to cause disaffection among them. These sins cause pervading tribulations, and enormous corruption also stems from them. Their perpetrators are among the worst of people and due to their capricious tongue, they speak as dictated by their whims and desires.  Their situation at the time of resurrection will be appalling as the Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam mentioned, Whoever eats the flesh of his brother in the world (i.e. bacjbites), he will be presented to him on the Day of Resurrection and it will be said to him, Eat his dead as you have eaten him alive. He would eat him and he would scowl and scream.
