The Qur´an
The Qur´an is the Word of Allah the Exalted; (a means) of nearness to Allah. Itsreciter gets a reward for every letter he recites. It is honour for its reciter in this world and salvation in the Hereafter. It will intercede for its companion (reciter) on the Day of Resurrection as Allah´s Messenger salla alayhi wa sallam pointed out:
´´Read the Qur´an for it will come as an intercessor for its companions on the Day of Resurrection.´´36
The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam also said:
´´The Qur´an will come on the Day of Reusrrection and it will say: O Lord, adorn him´ and he would be made to wear a crown of honour. It would say again: ´O Lord, increase it (i.e. his adornment) and he would be dressed in a robe of honour and then it will say: ´O Lord, be pleased with him´ and he would be granted (Allah´s) pleasure. He will say: ´Recite and ascend´ and a good deed will be added for every verse.´´37
Allah´s Messenger salla alayhi wa sallam also said:
´´The Qur´an will meet its companion (i.e. reciter) on teh Day of Resurrection, when his grave will split open, in the form of an emaciated man and it will say: ´Do toy recognize me?´
And he (the reciter) will say: ´I do not recognize you.´
It wil say: ´I am the Qur´an; your companion which kept you thirsty in your mid-days and kept you sleepless in your night. Every merchant stands behind its merchandize. Today you will be behind every merchandise.´
He will be granted sovereignty on his right hand and eternity on his left and a crown of dignity will be pæaced on his head and his parents will be dressed in tow robes. They will say: ´Why have we been dressed in these robes?´
It wil be said: ´Due to your child´s memorization of the Qur´an. ´then it will be said to him: ´recite and asend in the levels of Paradise and its chambers´ and he wil continue to ascend as long as he recites whether in a rapid or measured tone.´´´38
The Qur´an will come as an intercessor to its reciter on the Day of resurrection and the two surahs of al-Baqarah and Aal-´Imraan will both plead on behalf of their reciter on the Day of reusrrection. Whoever reads the Qur´an a lot, especially the two surahs of al-Baqarah and Aal-Imraan, is entitled to intercession of the Day of Resurrection.
Allah´s Messenger salla alayhi wa sallam said:
´recite the Qur´an, for on the Day of Resurrection it will come as an intercessor for those who recite it. Recite the two bright ones: al-Baqarah and Surah Aal-´Imraan, for on the Day of Resurrection they will come as two clouds or two shades, or two flocks of birds in ranks, pleading for those who recite them.´´39
