Footsteps of Shaytaan

 Shaytaan advances along with man, step by step, in the bid to mislead him. He centices him to commit a sin; which leads to a more grievous one, until he deceives some of them into committing shirk; which is a footstep whose end is Hellfire. allah says:


´´And follow not the footsteps of Shaytaan (Satan). Verily, he is to you an open enemy.´´ (Al-Baqarah: 168)

He also says:

´´O you who believe! Follow not the footsteps of Shaytaan (Satan). And whosoever follows the footsteps of Shaytaan (Satan), then, verily he commands al-fahsha´ [i.e. to commit indecency (illegal sexual intercourse, etc.)],  and al-munkar (disbelie and polytheism (i.e. to do evil and wicked deeds; to speak or to do what is forbidden in Islam, etc.)]. And had it not been for the Grace of Allah and His Mercy on you, not one of you would ever have been pure sins. But Allah purifies (guides to Islam) whom He wills, and Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower.´´ (An-Noor: 21)

Which explanation can be more explicit than that of our Lord; despite this, some people do not cease to rush after Shaytaan and obey him.

Voluntary Fasting

 Fasting is one of the major acts of worship with which Allah redeems the fasting person from the Fire. The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam said: ´´Fasting is a shield against the Fire (of Hell) just like the shield one of you would use during fighting.´´80 The supererogatory fasting has its virtue. The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam said: ´´He who observes fast for a day in the path of Allah, He will remove his face from the Hell due to (the fast of) that day to the extent of seventy years.´ distance.´´81 The phrase ´in the path of Allah´ could either mean fasting a day sincerely, intending the pleasure of Allah; or fasting in the course of a military expedition in the path of Allah.

Backbiter and Tale-Bearer

 A backbiter is the individual who indugles in backiting which involves mentioning about your brother that which he would detest. The tale-bearer is the person who varries bad tale among the people in order to cause disaffection among them. These sins cause pervading tribulations, and enormous corruption also stems from them. Their perpetrators are among the worst of people and due to their capricious tongue, they speak as dictated by their whims and desires.  Their situation at the time of resurrection will be appalling as the Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam mentioned, Whoever eats the flesh of his brother in the world (i.e. bacjbites), he will be presented to him on the Day of Resurrection and it will be said to him, Eat his dead as you have eaten him alive. He would eat him and he would scowl and scream.
