Attributes of Al-Kauthar

 Al-Kauthar is one of the rivers of Paradise and the waters of Paradise offer such delight, goodness and beauty that they have not been seen by any eye, heard by any ear and or occurred to any heart.

Anas related:

´´One day the Messenger of Allah salla alayhi wa sallam was amongst us when he dozed off. He then raised his head smiling. We said: ´What makes you smile. O Messenger of Allah? He said: ´A Surah has just been revealed to me, and then he recited: ´In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful; Verily, we have granted you (O Muhammad (peace be upon him)) Al-Kauthar (a river in Paradise); therefore turn in prayer to your Lord and sacrifice (to Him only). For hw who maes you angry (O Muhammad (peace be upon him)), - he will be cut off (from every good thing in this world and in the Hereafter).´´

Then he (the Prophet) said: ´Do you know what Al-Kauthar is?´ We said: ´Allah and His Messenger know best.´ The Prophet salla alayhi wa sallam said: ´It (Al-Kauthar) is a river which my Lord, the Exalted and Glorious has promised me, and there is an abundance of good in it. It is a cistern and my people will come to it on the Day of Resurrection. Its jugs will be numerous like the number of stars. A servant will be turned away from (among the people gathered there). Upon this I will say: ´My Lord, he is one of my people,´ and He (the Lord) will say: ´You do not know what he innovated (in the religion of Islam) after you.´´225
